Foundation Awards Grants to Maine Oral Health Programs


Saco, Maine—The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation recently awarded grants of $107,659 to nine oral health programs that serve Maine communities with oral health education and dental services.

The Foundation awarded grants of $159 for an oral health curriculum for pre-kindergarten classrooms at the Ashland District School, MSAD #32; $5,000 to support the operations at Dental Lifeline Network (Donated Dental Services) Maine; $15,000 for a dental assistance program at Islands Community Medical Services, Vinalhaven; $25,000 to continue a community collaborative with the Maine Oral Health Funders; $25,000 for a dental student outreach program in Machias and Pleasant Point Reservation with the New York University College of Dental Medicine; $3,000 for oral health screenings, exams, and x-rays for the Next Step Domestic Violence Project, Ellsworth; $2,000 to replace dental equipment at the Root Cellar Dental Clinic, Portland; $25,000 for SmilePartners 3.0 program for refugees/immigrants for the University of Southern Maine, Muskie School of Public Service, Portland; and $7,500 to support the dental coordinator at Waldo County Dental Care, Belfast.
