Northeast Delta Dental Actuary Promoted to Vice President

Northeast Delta Dental recently promoted Auburn, New Hampshire, resident, Courtney Morin, FSA, MAAA, to Vice President, Actuarial & Underwriting. Morin has been employed by Northeast Delta Dental for 15 years, joining the company soon after earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, with a major in mathematics and economics.

Over a period of several years, Morin took the required courses and passed exams to earn the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation in 2009. In 2013, Morin completed the required exams to earn the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), the highest actuarial designation. She is also a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).  There are fewer than 12,000 FSAs in the U.S., and fewer than 20,000 in the world.

Until his 2014 retirement, Morin was mentored by Laurence Weissbrot, FSA. Morin received a series of promotions as she reached professional milestones; and, upon Weissbrot’s retirement from his position as Vice President, Actuarial & Research, she was promoted to Director, Actuarial & Research. Of her recent promotion, Northeast Delta Dental President & CEO, Tom Raffio, said, “Courtney’s mastery of actuarial science and analytical approaches to business challenges make her an extremely valuable member of our management team.”

Morin became a Hoffman Haas Fellow after completing a NH Center for Nonprofits program to train and develop nonprofit board leaders throughout New Hampshire and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains.
