What is the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award?

The award is named after Malcolm Baldrige, a former U.S. Secretary of Commerce, who championed the cause of improving the quality of American businesses. Established in 1987, the award recognizes organizations that exemplify the highest standards of excellence, innovation and sustainability. Northeast Delta Dental is proud to be recognized as a 2024 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient. It was one of only five companies in the United States to receive the national award in 2024, and the first ever in New Hampshire. 

The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award is presented to organizations that demonstrate outstanding performance in key areas such as: 

The company was recognized as a Best Company to Work For by Business New Hampshire magazine.

The speed of answering calls has improved from an average of 33 seconds in 2016 to 29 seconds in 2023.

Northeast Delta Dental invested $5 million in response to rising costs and continued workforce shortages impacting Northeast Delta Dental providers and consumers.

The sales goal for 2023 of a million subscribers was surpassed in the first quarter 2022 with 1,002,000 subscribers.

In 2023 the Foundation granted over $1.3 million to oral health initiatives.

Gross revenue has increased from $57.5 million in 1995 to approximately $482 million in 2023. 

The Health through Oral Wellness® (HOW®)/PreViser® risk assessment process and tool allow dentists to provide more services per year when warranted to patients identified with elevated risk.
