Important COVID-19 Communication for Group Customers

Dear Group Customers,

Thank you for all the years you’ve trusted us to administer the dental benefits of your employees. We appreciate your business.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created a unique set of circumstances. Like many of you, most of our employees are working from home, while some are working from our Concord, New Hampshire, headquarters. We continue to perform all the same processes to serve our stakeholders—efficiently and effectively.

As I said in my video to employers, if you have any issues relating to paying your monthly group premium, we can work with you on that. We have communicated this to your insurance broker or producer. This health crisis calls upon all of us to be more flexible and understanding.

To ensure that our dental networks are available to your employees when they need them, this week Northeast Delta Dental approved a relief package for our currently participating network dentists and oral surgeons. This week, each dental office will receive a check in the amount of approximately one percent of its 2019 claim payments received from Northeast Delta Dental. These funds will not be reflected in the claims experience of our customers and will not impact you negatively.

In addition to the relief package based on 2019 claims payments, claims submitted to Northeast Delta Dental from our PPO providers from mid-February to March 17, 2020, will be adjusted to Premier rates and the amount of the difference between PPO and Premier rates will be calculated and paid in the coming weeks as a second form of relief.

We want our dental office teams to stay healthy and strong so they can continue to be our front line of defense against oral diseases, recognizing that oral health is essential for overall health and well-being.

A Message from the American Dental Association

In order for dentistry to do its part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the American Dental Association (ADA) recommends dentists nationwide postpone elective procedures for the next three weeks. Concentrating on emergency dental care will allow dentists to care for their emergency patients and alleviate the burden that dental emergencies would place on hospital emergency departments.
