Delta Dental invested over $106 million in community programs in 2023, impacting over 16 million lives nationwide, including Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont

Northeast Delta Dental invested over $4.7 million to advance health and wellness in the tri-state area

The Delta Dental Institute recently released its 2023 Community Impact Report, “Our mission: your health.” Last year, Delta Dental invested over $106 million to support programs in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, impacting over 16 million lives. These investments supported programs focused on expanding access to care, advancing health equity, building resilient communities, and innovating for a healthier tomorrow. Over the last decade, Delta Dental has invested nearly $2 billion to support such programs in communities across the country.

In the tri-state area of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, Northeast Delta Dental invested over $4.7 million through programs and initiatives such as:

  • New York University’s College of Dentistry’s services to dental patients in rural Maine. In Machias, Maine, New York University College of Dentistry students, in collaboration with local partners provided critically needed dental care and education to those who would otherwise go without.
  • The Vermont Head Start Association’s Tooth Tutor program, that helped Tooth Tutors (registered dental hygienists) reach more children and families with education and dental care to improve their oral health.
  • The PLUS Company’s dental health education program to over 400 adult clients with disabilities in New Hampshire. Adults with disabilities often encounter many health challenges, including their oral health. This program reinforced the importance of good oral health.

“We are grateful to our community partners for enabling us to advance our work to improve the health, wellness and quality of life for people across the tri-state region, said Jennifer McGrath, Senior Manager, Corporate Giving, Northeast Delta Dental. “This Community Impact Report underscores the synergy that results when member companies work towards the common goal of a healthier future.”

The report, issued annually, tells the story of the investments that Delta Dental companies, their foundations, and community partners made last year to positively impact the oral and overall health of their communities.

The report also includes a new video and an interactive map featuring programs in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. The full report is available online at www.deltadentalinstitute.com/cir.
